I chose this image as a winner because of the technical excellence as well as the fact that the artist was aiming to create intimacy and she has acheived her purpose very well with this portrait. I feel as if I am a part of the photograph and that the sitter is looking at me.

I would cut this image from the final selection as I feel it doesn't fit in with the rest of the exhibition and I feel it is lacking in technical qualities and composition.
